After such a wet winter it has been impossible to start the winter digging let alone finish it, but as soon as we get a few days of warm sunshine this will be priority.
Covering the planting soil with polythene will help it warm up, I do this two weeks before I plan to sow outside.
Plenty of seed sowing in the polytunnel - salad crops, spinach, chard, rocket, cabbage, broccoli, kale, broad beans. Herbs - parsley, winter savoury, chives & chervil. Propagation of perennial herbs such as mint.
The onion sets are ready to be planted but the soil is not so welcoming so that will have to wait for better days.
Time to chit the potatoes in a frost free environment.
