JUNE - PERENNIALS. A MONTH OF SHORTEST NIGHTS AND HEAVY FLOWER SCENTS

  • Thoroughly water at least once a week during dry weather.

  • Deadhead regularly as the flowers fade.

  • Keep a watch out for slugs and snails as these devastate some perennials.

  • Perennials to encourage bees & butterflies - Achillea, Aster, Coreopsis, Echinacea, Nepeta, Pyrethrum, Rudbeckia, Scabious, Verbena, Digitalis, Salvia & Borage to name but a few.

  • Check flowers regularly for pests and disease, at this time of year plants are quickly devastated by pests such as greenfly and mildew.

  • Water & feed hanging baskets and deadhead the faded flowers to encourage more flowers.
